I really enjoyed the research for Drover. First was the cattle drive, then some help from a very pleasant lady in Tain, good photos of Alt-na-main, then down to Fort William and that dreary Glen Coe – I made Fergus and McNeil reluctant to go through near the darkening; I felt the ghosts of the massacre hanging heavy there-Rannoch Moor with its eerie beauty, Loch Lomond of course and along the Clyde past the sailing ships to the Glasgow of 1820 when Sauchiehall Street was the West End. A fascinating journey.
