Moidart, Australia and drover McPherson. My wife had an adopted aunt called Mary, whose father had been a drover. I heard of Mary as Mary McPherson but women had a habit of calling their friends by their maiden name, so, whether she was or became a McPherson, I don’t know. She went to Australia with her husband and started a model farm called Moidart. It was through that connection I became interested enough to write Drover. How Mary came to go to Australia is another story.
