King or Kaiser is now on the market. Check it out on sullatoberdalton.com. Obviously it is a WW1 story but we must remember this was truly a world war. Men died in the Pacific, in the South Atlantic, in the North Atlantic, in West and Southern Africa and in East Africa’s Tanzania. They died in the Indian Ocean, in Palestine and Turkey. They died because Britain was an industrial economy and its war effort depended on copper for shell casings, iron for ships, rifles and tanks, even bread and jam depended on sugar and wheat and the sea routes had to be protected.

The poppies count those who fell in battle but we will never know how many died as porters carrying loads for both British and German armies in the jungles of Africa. The poppies are for them as well.
