Literary agent

– I have ten minutes to sell Best in Show to a literary agent but I’m not a salesman. I tried selling rock drills but when one of the clients started to talk rubbish I told him not to talk crap and I left without an order. All I really want to do is write – all very well for the first, Welcome to Oakhaven, and even the second, A Land Fit for Heroes, but now I must do promotions and talks. Not that I mind the talks but I would have been given a thick ear if I’d boasted when I was young and it’s difficult to get over that inhibition. Being in Trade was rather frowned upon, don’t you know! Still, one does one’s best.
