Writer’s group – What I enjoy about our group is the varied interests of the members, some preferring poetry, some writing children’s books, some modern fiction, while I prefer historical fiction or humour. We ‘have a go’ at each-others preferred style and have tackled verb-less, preposition poetry, short non-fiction pieces, flash fiction, a review of one of the Christmas TV programmes and a critique of a famous painting as well as the items in the booklet we produced. Some of my attempts are good, some mediocre and some just bad, and while it sounds daunting, it has been fun.
There are plans to follow up the booklet with another, more ambitious presentation, which will include a promotional piece about the village, some flash fiction, a longer short story and a poem.
