Yachts, Book Covers and mysteries – I sometimes wonder if I do things the wrong way round and I should take a book cover and write the story about that instead of finding a cover for a book. Take the one for Vital Spark. It looks good but where is the yacht going? Who is on board? Is it a honeymoon couple? Is it abandoned? Are the crew unknowingly sailing into a major storm? It could be anything, I once met a stock broker from Alaska in Cape Town harbour who did all his business by the internet. Maybe I should have called him a share cropper. Royal Cape had its own America’s Cup trophy. The race was sailed round a buoy that marked where a freighter called America had sank in a storm. Unfortunately, they lost the cup. Not the race, the cup itself!
